The British Geological Survey's sensor data API is backed by PostgreSQL databases.
It has been built via an infrastructure-as-code approach using Docker, Ansible, Flyway and GitLab CI.
Streaming replication via pglogical provides redundancy and selected publication of data.
This talk outlines the architecture explains some of the benefits of this approach
